Get active, be inspired and help conquer childhood cancer.
The Parkway Run & Walk, presented by Citadel, is an extraordinary example of the mobilization of people determined to conquer childhood cancer. What began in 1998 with 300 runners has grown to more than 10,000 runners and walkers from around the world who have collectively raised over $15 million for pediatric cancer research and care at CHOP.
This year, we are excited to build upon our momentum from the 2020 Parkway Run & Walk: Virtual Edition, and keep the event as a monthlong challenge to ensure that every team, whether participating in honor or in memory of a child, can take part in a safe and fun way from home.
Help conquer cancer virtually: How it works
How it Works
Step 1: Register
Start a team
Register and recruit your team of virtual participants to join you!
Register, create your meaningful mileage goal* and recruit your team members. Teams can be of any size, but remember that the more team members you recruit, the more miles you can track and the more money you can raise to help CHOP conquer childhood cancer!
*Many teams create goals that relate to a patient’s cancer journey. For example, Team Tommy is challenging themselves to achieve 3,650 for the 10 years Tommy has been cancer-free.
Join a team
Going it alone? No worries! You can still fundraise and help us fuel breakthroughs in pediatric cancer.
Note: All registered participants have the option to receive a Parkway Run & Walk T-shirt.
Step 2: Get active and raise funds
On Sept. 1, each team member can begin tracking miles through any activity they choose, such as walking, running, biking, rowing or swimming.
NEW for 2021, participants can download the Parkway Run & Walk app, which connects to Apple, Google Fit, Strava or Fitbit. Once connected, the data will sync automatically so participants can see their stats and set goals.
100% of every dollar raised for the Parkway Run & Walk funds breakthroughs in cancer research and care for children at CHOP — and around the globe! What your donation funds
Step 3: Celebrate at our virtual closing ceremony!
On Sunday, Sept. 26, we’ll celebrate our successes and honor the community created around the Parkway Run & Walk. The livestreamed program will feature CHOP patient ambassadors, Cancer Center staff, and most importantly – YOU! We can’t wait to see what you have been able to accomplish throughout September.
