Resources and Tips

Thanks for joining us at the Parkway Run & Walk, presented by Citadel Credit Union! To help you make the most of your participation — and raise funds for cutting-edge pediatric cancer research and care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) — we’ve compiled some resources you can use to help kids. Please share this page with your teammates!

Fundraising Tips

Share Your Why

Make your personal fundraising page personal! Tell family and friends why you are raising funds for CHOP’s Cancer Center.

Don’t be afraid to ask everyone to support you! What about your co-workers? Your relatives? Your neighbors? See Fundraising in 7 Days for more ideas.

Do you have friends or family who don’t check their email often? Try sending a text message with your fundraising page URL and a fun photo or video!

Send individual emails to each of your family and friends. Tip: Remember to be specific when asking for a donation! See our Email Writing Tips.

Remember to thank ALL your donors, because without them, CHOP would not be the hospital it is today. Tag your donors on social media and recognize them publicly for helping you and your team.

Check with your HR department to see if your employer will match employee donations or search our matching gifts directory for your company name.

You may be surprised at the support you’ll receive from a Facebook post, tweet or Instagram photo or story. Share your personal fundraising page or download a fundraising bib, personalize it and share on social media. Make sure you use the hashtag #ParkwayRun.

Copy your personalized fundraising page URL into a QR-code-generating website and share the code on a flyer or poster for friends and family to donate!

Recruit Others

Encourage friends to join your team or make a donation. The more people who join your team and fundraise, the broader your team’s reach. Remember, your team can include virtual participants who live anywhere in the world!

Did you know? Facebook Fundraisers are a fast and simple way to expand your fundraising and help participants raise 3X more! Log in to your event fundraising portal and select “create a Facebook Fundraiser” to get started!

Even though some posts will be more donation-focused than others, always give people the opportunity to learn more about pediatric cancer research and donate using your personal URL. Looking for your URL? Email for assistance.

Use hashtags

Use #ParkwayRun and #ForBreakthroughs in your posts to make it easy for friends to follow your fundraising progress.

Tag us
